Currently, Shotlister subscriptions appear to be available only through the App Store / in-app purchase system. This creates a significant issue for organizations like ours: users with Managed Apple IDs are typically unable to complete standard App Store subscription purchases, as these accounts are designed for controlled enterprise environments and often do not support normal consumer billing flows.
In practice, this means:
We can successfully deploy Shotlister to our team via Apple Business Manager
But our users cannot activate a subscription within the app
And therefore, we are blocked from using the full product in a professional setup
This becomes even more problematic when managing multiple users:
Managed Apple IDs are standard in many companies
They restrict or entirely prevent subscription purchases
Apple Business Manager does not support distributing or assigning subscriptions
To put it simply:
We would genuinely love to pay for Shotlister and roll it out across our team — but right now, we simply can’t.
From a business perspective, an alternative approach would make a huge difference. Ideally, this would include:
an external billing option (e.g. web-based subscriptions, invoicing, Stripe, etc.)
and even better: a centralized admin model, where a company can
purchase a number of seats (e.g. per user)
manage users centrally
assign and revoke access as needed
A team-based licensing system with per-user pricing and admin control would be extremely valuable for professional environments. It would allow companies to adopt Shotlister in a scalable and structured way, without relying on individual App Store subscriptions.
At the moment, the situation is quite frustrating: the app can be distributed, but not meaningfully used in a paid setup due to Apple’s restrictions on managed accounts.
Would you consider offering an external subscription model and potentially a team/admin-based licensing system? This would make Shotlister accessible to a whole segment of professional users who currently have no way of subscribing.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
